Texas Yoga Conference

Breathe the Cure/TYC
Chief Wellness Officer
Houston, Texas
Hello, friends! My name is Jenny Buergermeister. Back in 2007, I founded Jennyoga Studios in Houston that was open to serve the public for almost a decade. Though I am no longer in the studio biz, I founded Breathe the Cure, a Texas 501(c)3 and the Texas Yoga Conference and Association. I still maintain the conference each year and support yoga in Texas as a way of life free of unnecessary regulation that is outside of YA and IAYT.

After graduating in 1999 with honors from the University of Houston with a double degree - B.S. Psychology / B.A Journalism - I later graduated from Sofia University’s Institute of Transpersonal Psychology (ITP) in Palo Alto, CA in 2010, and hold a Masters in Transpersonal Psychology.  I was also awarded a Doctor of Divinity Degree from Spiritis Seminary in 2005 and completed a one-year program in 2014 at Rice University studying Philanthropy and Nonprofit Leadership. I am currently seeking an APA Accredited Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at Fielding Graduate University.

I am completely devoted to the practice. I think anyone who practices yoga soon feels yoga as a lifelong practice in love.

Since 1992, I have studied Hatha, Ashtanga, Iyengar, Vinyasa, Anusara, Forrest and Ayurveda + South Indian marital arts yoga with Swami Vidyadhishananda Giri, David Williams, Robert Boustany, Jonny Kest, Shiva Rea, John Friend, Ana Forrest and Scott Blossom respectfully.I teach three undergraduate LPAP courses on campus at Rice University, two psychology courses at College of Healthcare Professions, and two online courses in Neurobiology/Psych and Biomechanics for graduate students in design at Boston Architectural College. Previously I taught at Emery Weiner Upper School and consulted HISD for the Sonima Foundation. Public Appearances/Teaching: Fox 26, Channel 39, Channel 13, Channel 11, Great Day Houston, YMCA, Dow Chemicals, Gulf Coast Green, Pennzoil Oil Co, Jewish Women's Federation, Unity Church, Incarnate Word, Texas Yoga Conference, Om Vibrations, Yoga Month Health Festival 2008 in Austin, Telluride Yoga Festival, Interfaith Ministries, Yoga Round-up and the Yoga Alliance Leadership Conference, Menninger, Life Cube Fest., Yoga Expo Houston and Los Angeles, ISCC, the Houston JCC, The Houstonian, Jennyoga, Your Body Center, The Good Space, Tomball College, Hadassah, and Beth Israel.
